In order to keep the history of the Famine Orphan Girls alive and mark their memory into the future the Great Irish Famine Commemoration Committee (GIFCC) decided to fund prize and set up several bursaries.

The Great Irish Famine Commemoration Committee (GIFCC) is interested in capturing the stories of ALL the Earl Grey workhouse emigrants who arrived between 1848 and 1850.

We regret we are unable to undertake genealogical research for visitors to the website but once you have confirmed your connection with a Famine orphan girl we would love to hear from you and are happy to correspond with you and work together to gather more information.

Please feel free to explore the website thoroughly.

You can search by name of emigrant girls, ship, place of origin or any other field.
