Married Hugh McManus, 1850 when aged 19; in 1874 Hugh, ‘an elderly labourer’ was charged with deserting her and ordered to pay 7s a week towards her maintenance; she was in hospital in Feb 1875 & Jun 1877 where she died ‘after a long and painful illness’ 1877 described as ‘beloved wife of Hugh McManus’ so things were patched up – records indicate she was from Tipperary; Sydney & Qld papers asked to copy so they must have had relatives in those colonies?; Hugh died in hospital in Adelaide in 1879.rnrn
