- Adelaide newspaper 25 Feb 1850 as ‘Margaret Kenny, an Irish orphan, per Roman Emperor’, drunk & disorderly in Hindley St. previously charged with riotous behaviour; Apr 1850 to theft & lived with a Mr Knight. Whether it is the same woman or several named Margaret Kenny the following narrative may fit the Roman Emperor immigrant-possible sister, Norah, advertised in 1855 for her Margaret Kenny from Mullenahone, County Tipperary;1850-56 frequently noted as ‘a girl of the town’ or ‘a young woman of bad repute’ & charged 11 times with drunkenness, obscene language, stealing & was fined or to gaol; Nov 1856 Margaret Kenny abused by James Burns who she lived with & Oct 1851 was a vagrant; 1857 a daughter, Maria, born at Kapunda - Patrick Considine the father; police report in Dec 1886 of death of Margaret Kenny Considine, aged about 71 of Marryatville who died at the residence of John O’Loughlin with whom she had been living for about three months. This summary may relate to the orphan girl.
