From Newtownlimavady, Derry workhouse; as Eliza Jane Doherty (20) she married George Lampard (26) in Adelaide in Jan 1854; 5 children; in 1862 Eliza gave evidence with her sister, Margaret, in court of a case where their shipmate, Jane Macnanamin, had been murdered at Salt Creek; husband George Lampard died 1864 near Blackford, Lacepede Bay, after falling from a horse; he was buried in the new cemetery on Messrs Cooke’s property a mile south of Kingstown; Eliza then disappears!!
