Rose Ann Doherty (18) married George Roberts (24) at teamster on 8 Feb 1851 at the residence of John Hurst, Angaston. John Hurst had married her sister Eliza Doherty in 1850 at the residence of John Edwards, Angaston, confirming the relationship between these two girls; one daughter possibly born in Victoria c.1867; in 1868 George Roberts found a new gold reef, named The Forlorn Hope, near Alexandra, Victoria, the sixth such reefs to be found by him; Rose died 1885 at Majorca, aged 52.
