aged 14 when she arrived; married 29 year-old carpenter, Charles John Anstey in Jul 1854 at Trinity Church, Adelaide when she was 19; 8 children; lived at Port Elliot which was then an important colonial port where the family were involved in community life and the Congregational Church; Charles worked on the Southern Railway; Eliza died in hospital of uterine cancer on 26 Jun 1889, aged 54, her death notice reported ‘her end was peace’; Charles died in Dec 1903; both buried West Terrace; see attached biography, details contributed by descendants
