South Dublin BG/79/G/1B: No.2672-see attached; shipping: needlewoman, read & write. 1858-9 Report on Irish Female Immigrants, Appendix J No.227, 21 Feby 1851 she complained of ill usage by employer, Mrs Callopy & her indentures cancelled by consent, WPO; married 1) Richard Plummer Burgess, 1852 Scots Church, Sydney; Burgess was a ship captain & Winifred is recorded as a passenger on several of his voyages; their 1st child, Richard Henry, b.1853 Tasmania, possibly at sea; family to New Zealand; husband drowned in shipwreck of 'Success' in 1863 near Wellington, NZ; children in Lyttelton Orphange in 1870; 5 known children; Winifred married 2) Sydney Lee Dyer at Napier 1868, no ch; later moved to Australia later where both died: Winifred in1890 at Redfern; Dyer died in 1910, both buried Rookwood.
