Shipping: house servant, cannot read or write, no relatives in colony; as Celia Owens she married William Cox at St Phillips, CofE, Sydney on 12 Sep 1853; William was the colonial-born son of VDL convict, William Cox per Earl St Vincent 1826; William and Cecily moved through the New England districts of NSW, arriving in Drayton in early 1858 where their second son was born; William variously worked as a bailiff, railway porter and bootmaker; owned land in Brisbane which he apparently sold about the time Cicely died in 1892; 14 children; Cicely died in Aug 1892 at Spring Hill, Brisbane & was buried Toowong Cemetery RC; William went to Sydney where he married Helen Beale in Jan 1893 at Woolloomooloo & died in 1912 at Redfern, buried RC Rookwood.
