Shipping: house servant, cannot read or write, no relatives in the colony; shipmates Bridget Dawson & Catherine Hall with seven others worked for RJ Want of Double Bay; all nine were in a boat accident on Sydney Harbour on 6 Jan 1851 between Clarke and Garden Islands on their way to the theatre. The boat got into a trough in the sea, filled with water and sank. These two girls were among the six who drowned [SMH 8 Jan 1851]
