Elizabeth erected a headstone to honour her husband who died 25 Jun 1883 and her mother, mother Bridget Rourke died 7 Jun 1884. Thomas Clifford had sponsored Bridget's mother to the colony on the Dirigo in 1859 when she was aged 60. A son, Thomas, became a world sculling champion.
