The following information sent from Eliza's descendant, Di Samter: During Eliza Christy's journey on the Diadem she met her husband to be, John (Frazer) Jones with his first wife Esther who was pregnant and their toddler son. Eliza cared for Esther in childbirth on board, but Esther died. John Jones married Eliza Christy on 1 Apr 1852 in Kilmore. They set up home in Victoria, had 11 or 12 children. About 1883 most of the Jones family migrated areas of NSW such Cobar & Broken Hill. Eliza died in Broken Hill in 1895. Her death certificate records her father as Robert Christy, a farmer, and her mother Eliza.
