not on SA register shipping lists; possibly SAA GRG 28/4, No.607 Cath Meany, 21, Currie St, with child under 7, been a servant for 2 years to Rev M.. has rheumatism pains, to be place in institution until 5 Oct; was a witness in court in Apr 1852 when Mary Martin accused of stealing a quilt–Meany used live with Martin; as Minney, possibly married John Driscoll 23 Aug 1852 at RC church; John & Catherine spent 1850s on a rampage: fined in Mar 1854 for riotous behaviour-she breaking windows & he assaulting a prostitute; later in 1854 John committed highway robbery & assault; Catherine stealing, riotous & disorderly behaviour as a prostitute in 1855-6; she lived with John Walsh when husband in the Dry Creek stockade-Walsh charged with brutal behaviour & Catherine with keeping a brothel, being drunk, using obscene language & embezzlement in 1856-57; by 1867 she & son John, living in Nile St, Port Adelaide, charged a man with forced entry & attempting to rob their house
