SAA GRG 28/4 (No.759) 3 Apr 1852, 20 years old at Pirie St., 1 child under 7 years, 4 years in colony(?), recommended by Dr Davy, husband away, child very ill; suspect this girl is Mary Ann Nicholls who had a child, Mary Ann German born on 24 Aug 1852 at the Lefevre Peninsular, registered in Adelaide as the daughter of Samuel Germeine and Mary Ann Nicholls [SA vol 20 p.223]; Mary Ann Nicholls and Samuel Germaine married on 10 Jul 1855 at the husband’s residence on the Lefevre peninsular – he was 36 and she aged 25; they had at least 5 children; he was a well-respected pilot on the Lefevre peninsular; Mary Ann died on 11 Mar 1864 and Samuel at Semaphore on 16 Aug 1886.
