- On list of passengers in 'South Australian Register', 7 Jun 1849; several Catherine Egans but this one fits best; Mrs Frankpitts at the Mount Barker depot noted that Catherine Egan had to leave her employment and had run away from Mount Barker, Rev O’Brien having counselled her to leave her employment because Mr Gracehawk was ‘interfering with her religion’; on 17 May 1864 Catherine Egan, aged 30, a Catholic servant, born in Kings County, Ireland, who had been in the colony 8 years was admitted to the Norwood hospital, Adelaide where she died on 2 Nov 1864.
