Barefoot & Pregnant?, Vol 2, p.297 mentioned her in 1850 Gov report of return of Adelaide Prostitutes CO 13/70; Aug 1851 fined for being drunk in Hindley St; as Eliza Jane Brady married John Marsh (a plasterer) in 1852 at Holy Trinity Church, Adelaide; Jun 1853 Marsh refused to responsibility debts of his wife Eliza Jane Marsh; Jan 1855 she is prostitute, drunk & outrageous behaviour in Rundle St after leaving the Norfolk Arms, said she had ‘ceased to be Ms Jane Brady and was now Mistress Jane Marsh’! court cases in 1856 & 1864 case to dissolve the marriage - no children; she lived with William Fox until his death in 1859 & had since been a ‘drunk and common prostitute’; John Marsh remarried in 1864 & died in 1875; Jane in and out of hospital 7 times from Jan 1864 until her death there on 6 Oct 1865; this record noted she was from Cavan, Ireland; buried West Terrace Cemetery
