Married Charles Stuart (a trainee naval architect from Belfast) in Dec 1851, St Francis RC, Melbourne; they restored Woodlands homestead in the Shire of Bulla which is under protection of the Dept. of Conservation, Forests & Lands; the family gradually moved north into NSW staying at Ballarat, Albury, Breddigowan, Nubba, Wallendbeen, Memagong, Lambing Flats & finally settled in the Harden-Murrumburrah area where they became farmers; many of their 11 children born various places as the family moved north; Charles died aged 54 & Catherine lived to over 90; both buried in the Murrumburrah cemetery.
