- Margaret Greely married John Ashwood 15 May 1852 at RC Adelaide; 3 children located; in 1872 a daughter, Sarah Ashwood alias Norgrove (single woman), and William Norgrove were charged with stealing bacon-in 1874 Sarah spend time in Adelaide hospital; in the Wallaroo Times, Nov 1879, Margaret stated that her husband had gone ‘up north’ and a long article in 1884 shows that their son Joseph had been in Wallaroo gaol when aged 10, later on the Kadina Hulk in Dec 1879 & then the Magill Reformatory School but released to his father in 1880 but back and forward to the hulk during the early 1880s; the paper also contains a general discussion about his chosen religion while on the hulk; by Aug 1886 Joseph was charged with breaking into a premises & stealing; in 1900 he was charged with unlawful possession of two bottles of whiskey; Margaret and John Ashwood lived at Wallaroo Mines; Margaret in hospital in 1885; died on 26 May 1903; John had pre-deceased her on 20 May 1888.
