SA Advertiser, 12 Sep 1849: Ellen Brien aged 16; probably married Charles Gale (21) when she was 19 at Trinity Church, Adelaide on 29 Mar 1853; first two children born Adelaide, other 6 in Avoca, Victoria; Charles Gale died 1 Nov 1916 and Ellen died 3 Aug 1928, aged 96 – both in Avoca. She is perhaps the oldest surviving workhouse emigrant.
