- shipping: house servant, cannot read or write, no relatives in colony; married 1) Richard Murray at St Marys RC Aug 1852; 3 children who all predeceased her; Richard Murray possibly died 1857 [294]; Catherine married 2) Francis Feeney/Finney 1860 at RC Hartley, 5 children; between Dec 1858 when Catherine spent a month in Bathurst gaol for obscene exposure and Oct 1882 when she was charged and imprisoned 28 times for terms of between 1 day and 18 months, sometimes with hard labour, for vagrancy, stealing and obscene language but mainly for drunkenness; in April 1882 she was in hospital for 6 months following an unspecified accident; in early Mar 1905 she was again charged in the Bathurst Police Court with drunkenness and paid a fine of 5 shillings and her monthly old age pension was suspended. Catherine died in the Newington Asylum on 1 Oct 1905 aged 67 of senile decay & was buried RC Rookwood. Details of her two husbands are still being researched.
Note there is a Catherine Feeney on John Temperley with her husband and children but she is not an orphan girl.
