In 1885 Johanna was admitted to Dunwich Benevolent Asylum because her rheumatism was so bad she could not look after herself. She died at Dunwich 1 Jan 1887 and is buried in an unmarked grave. Daniel Mahoney had also entered Dunwich in 1878 and died in June 1880 or 1881 in Brisbane Hospital & buried Toowong Cemetery [update 24Nov23 with thanks to Colin]
