Cor. 49/110, gone to Maitland; in Sep 1849 her indentures were cancelled with Henry Hopkins for insolence, frequent disobedience & absconding and she was returned to the Depot; in Dec 1850 she sued Robert Halfpenny for maintenance for a child by him; in Dec 1856 she was in the Sydney Benevolent Asylum where a daughter, Eliza Winnifred McGowan was born (no father indicated); married Thomas Harvey, 1859, at Presbyterian, Elizabeth Street, Sydney-both from Bathurst; 4 children; in Gulgong by 1874 were Thomas was gold mining. is probably Mary McGowan, dau of Daniel & Elen MacWeeney bap RC parish Kiltoghert, Leitrim on 6 Oct 1832; Jane McGowan also on the Inchinnan from Leitrim but no relationship has been established.
